The Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, FCT on Monitoring, Inspection and Enforcement, Mr. Ikharo Attah has received Abuja Developer's award of most distinguished advocate for strict compliance to Abuja Master Plan.

The award packaged by Abuja Daily Mail newspaper to mark its launch to media space was to recognise and appreciate some individuals and corporate organisations that have contributed to the development of the Federal Capital Territory in the various capacities since its creation by the late Head of State, General Murtala Ramat Mohammed.

Abuja Daily Mail said Attah was chosen in view of his remarkable contribution to the development of the territory  in the area of environmental sanitation by its nomination and screening committee  as one of those individuals working assiduously to ensure that Abuja was kept to its original master plan devoid of distortion and shanty structures in all places in the city.

The news medium further agreed that the Senior Special Assistant to the FCT Minister has really carried out his duty fearlessly without minding the  intimidations and harrasement from those perpetrating the distortion of the master plan.

Receiving the award, Attah thanked the management and editorial board of the newspaper for finding him worthy for the award.

He said he was particularly elated to note that people were over there seeing what he was doing to keep his job moving in line with the FCT founding fathers plans.

He said though, to remove illegal and shanty structures was painful, but he has to do his work to ensure that the purpose of carrying out the assignment was not defeated.

He therefore charged the media being the watch dog of the society to do more by using their contacts to reach out to those in high public offices to right the wrongs in the society for the betterment of the people.
