NACHPN Seeks Full Investigation Into Conduct Of A Community Health Worker

The National Association of Community Health Practitioners of Nigeria, NACHPN, has called on the Federal Government to give due attention to the scheme of service of its members in year 2023.

In his New Year message; the National President of the Association, Comrade Kabir Yahaya Ahmed advocated level 17 as retirement point for Community Health Practitioners, level 8 as entry point while level 10 should be the entry stage for Community Health Officers and level 14 as retirement point for Community Extension Workers just like other professionals in the country.

Comrade Kabir Yahaya Ahmed also stressed the need for more welfare package, accommodation, training and retraining as well as necessary facilities that would improve the productivity of community health practitioners towards boosting health care delivery in 2023 most especially at the grassroots.

He equally called for the recruitment of more community health workers nationwide towards addressing lack of manpower in Primary Healthcare Centres and enhance the quality of health care services in the country.

While commending the Federal Government for given the health sector the second placement in the 2023 budget after security, the President of NACHPN called for adequate funding and provision of basic facilities in all the Primary Healthcare Centres nationwide.

This according to him will reduce child and maternal mortality and fast track the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals, SDG in the health sector.

Reacting to  recent publications in some national newspapers concerning the conduct of someone illegally parading himself as  Community Extension Worker, Comrade Kabir Ahmed said the person involved is NOT a community health practitioner and has never attended School of Health Technology, Ijebu Ode to study Community Health

He therefore called on security agencies and necessary authorities to ensure full investigation into his activities for the law to take its course on him.

He explained that with the code of conduct of the profession, no community health worker would go beyohd his or her  scope of training, practice and ethics guiding the profession

Comrade Kabir Ahmed. therefore advised members of the Association to continue to carry out their duties diligently and always contribute their quota to the growth of the nation's health sector

While congratulating all Nigerians most  especially  community health practitioners for witnessing the new year  Comrade Kabir Ahmed reiterated the committment of NACHPN towards programmes that would improve quality service delivery in the country's Primary Healthcare Centres in 2023

That dispels all of these hearsays.” Fashola further stated that Tinubu was fighting for Nigerians when he expressed concerns about the scarcity of the new notes. “It is in the interest of the opposition to create or spin a criticism of a impact of a policy, and that’s the impact of policy. “Our candidate has not said don’t change the naira, but it is ...
