Wike To PDP: "I Wondered Why PDP Against Muslim-Muslim Ticket, But Refuse Southerner To Be Presidential Candidate"

The governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, has revealed that the Peoples Democratic Party does not want power to depart from the northern part of the country. According to Nyesom Wike, the PDP is against going for a Muslim-Muslim ticket, however, the leadership of the party at national level only wants a northern person to become the president of Nigeria after Buhari.

Nyesom Wike made this known during a church service which was organized to dedicate the 2023 election in God's hands. Nyesom Wike maintained that since PDP is against Muslim-Muslim ticket, it should also be against northern presidency Nyesom Wike stated that the PDP at the national level are playing with people's intelligence. Nyesom Wike wondered why the party is against Muslim-Muslim ticket but refuse to allow a southerner to become the presidential candidate of PDP.

Nyesom Wike went on to say that he agrees with the fact that Muslim-Muslim ticket is wrong. However, he noted that if PDP agrees that Muslim-Muslim is wrong, then they must also agree that it is wrong for the party to work towards ensuring that the next president comes from the north despite the fact that the current president is also from the north. Nyesom Wike blamed the electorates for not opposing PDP when they presented a presidential candidate from the north.
