Tinubu Appoints Media Aides Weeks To 2023 Election.

The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, has, a few weeks before the commencement of the 2023 general elections, appointed Mahmud Jega as his Special Adviser on Public Affairs.

Jega is an ace columnist. He resigned last year as columnist and chairman of the Editorial Board of Daily Trust.

A statement, however, made available to newsmen on Sunday by Tinubu’s spokesperson, Tunde Rahman, confirmed Jega’s appointment.

The appointment, according to him, was to strengthen the APC presidential candidate’s media office. The former Governor of Lagos State also appointed Abdulaziz Abdulaziz as his Special Assistant on Media and Publicity.

Rahman noted in the statement obtained by Naija News that the two appointees would deploy their expertise and deep understanding of political issues across the country, particularly the north, in shoring up the activities of the media team.

The statement read” “Following his stint as a lecturer in Biological Sciences at his alma mater, the Usman Danfodio University, Sokoto, Jega has practiced journalism non-stop for more than three decades.

“For a total of 13 years, he was Managing Editor, Editor, Deputy Editor-in-Chief and Editorial Board Chairman of Daily Trust Newspapers. Prior to that, he served as Editor, New Nigerian Newspapers, Editor of The Sentinel magazine, Kaduna, and Assistant Editor, Citizen magazine.

“Abdulaziz has experience spanning print, online, broadcast and social media. He had worked as a Correspondent, Bureau Chief and Regional Editor for the LEADERSHIP Newspapers before he joined Blueprint Newspaper which he left in 2017 as Deputy Editor.

“Before joining Daily Trust at the beginning of 2021, Abdulaziz also worked with the frontline online newspaper PREMIUM TIMES, as Associate Editor.

“Abdulaziz, an award-winning journalist and social media influencer, was until the appointment Deputy General Editor of Daily Trust Newspapers. He also anchored a morning show for the Trust TV, an arm of the Media Trust Group.”

The Minister of Works and Housing Babatunde Fashola has affirmed President Muhammadu Buhari is strongly behind All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu. 2023: FG Begins Capacity Building For Police Officers

 Federal government has flagged off capacity building on emotional intelligence aimed at increasing self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and relationship management, for improved service delivery by the rank and file of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
