Commander General of Nigeria Hunter and Forest Security Service, NHFSS, Ambassador Joshua Osatimehin has congratulated Christians in Nigeria as they join their brethren across the world in remembrance of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ
Ambassador Osatimehin in his Easter message urged the faithful to reflect on the significance of the season.
He said just as they celebrate Easter for Jesus' victory over death on the cross and his resurrection that rekindles the hope of eternal life, they should also pray for the peace and prosperity of Nigeria.
According to him, the occasion should bolster their hope of their nation's triumph over the current challenges of nation building and the imminence of better days.
The Commander General of NHFSS also enjoined all Nigerians and religious leaders to pray for a peaceful political transition in the country
The Commander General stated that NHFSS on its part had deployed its officers and men nationwide to compliment the efforts of other formal security agencies in maintaining law and order before, during and after the Easter celebration.
He therefore called for prayers for God's blessings and guidance for the incoming Governments at the National and State level and wished all a happy celebration.
Ambassador Osatimehin equally used the opportunity to appeal to President Muhammadu Buhari to sign into law the NHFSS Bill before him.
He explained that the Bill when signed into law would further strengthen the security of lives and property in the country.
Ambassador Osatimehin added that officers and men of NHFSS had already been trained and prepared to hit the ground running as soon as NHFSS is given constitutional backing to operate in the country.
