A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Alhaji Yahaya Santali Karshi, has congratulated the former Minister of Niger Delta Development Affairs, Senator Godswill Akpabio over his emergence as the Senate President and as well as member of the House of Representatives representing Zaria Federal Constituency, Honourable Tajudeen Abbas who was elected as the Speaker of the House of Representatives.
In his Congratulatory message to the two newly elected presiding officers of the two Chambers of the National Assembly signed and made available to the newsmen in Abuja today, Santali described them as a worthy legislators that rightly deserved the confidence and trust of their colleagues to lead them at this 10th Assembly dispensation.
He urged them to do everything possible within their disposal to justify these trust and confidence they reposed on them in discharging their legislative functions.
He said that they should ensure that not only their colleagues they should focus on, but lead the National Assembly to come out with qualitative laws that will enhance abundant life for the people of Nigeria.
While commenting on the capacity and competence of the two leaders, Santali, urged them to work closely and cooperate with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu so as to enable him discharge and implement all the projects and policies encapsulate in his Renewed Hope agenda for the people of Nigeria.
He called on them, particularly, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, to always consider the plight of people of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT whenever certain laws are to be made. That is, the people of the territory are expecting them to come out with laws that will enhance and improve their well-being, being that the House of Representatives is the statutory legislative chamber that legislate for the people of the territory.
Santali therefore prayed for them for God's guidance and protection as they lead their colleagues in the 10th National Assembly to champion a vibrant legislative agenda that would move the nation's forward.
