The Commander General of Nigeria Hunter and Forest Security Service, NHFSS, Ambassador Joshua Osatimehin has congratulated the newly appointed Service Chiefs, Acting Inspector General of Police, DIG Kayode Egbetokun and the National Security Adviser, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu.
Speaking with newsmen in Abuja, Ambassador Osatimehin described the appointments as a welcomed development.
He expressed the hope that the newly appointed top security officers would use their wealth of experience and knowledge in achieving the agenda of President Bola Tinubu's led administration in protecting lives and property of Nigerians and foreigners in the country.
While advising them not to betray the confidence repose in them, the Commander General of NHFSS stressed the need for them to improve on the achievements of their predecessors.
Ambassador Osatimehin who expressed concern over the rate of insecurity in the country also enjoined them to work as a team towards achieving national peace and security.
He emphasized the need for the Service Chiefs, IGP and the NSA to include community support such as NHFSS and Traditional Institutions among others in their strategies towards combating insecurity nationwide.
The Commander General reiterated the commitment of NHFSS in complementing their efforts in the fight against crimes and criminality most especially in the forest.
Ambassador Osatimehin used the opportunity to call for synergy among all security agencies in the country to put an end to the activities of bandits, boko haram and kidnappers disturbing the peace and unity of Nigeria.
The Commander General of NHFSS who described a security as everybody's business also enjoined all Nigerians to support the present administration in making Nigeria a safer destination for foreign and local investors for the economic development of the country.
He expressed optimism that with the collective support of all Nigerians, the country would soon overcome its security challenges and take its rightful place among comity of nations.
