Good Governance: APC Chieftains, Bravo Oluohu Praises Cross River Governor

A Chieftain of All Progressives Congress, APC in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Hon. Gabriel Bravo Oluohu, has commended Cross River State Governor, Senator Bassey Otu for his remarkable performance as the state chief executive.

Oluohu, a former Director of Organisation and Mobilisation of Senator Abdullahi Adamu for 2022 National Chairman Campaign Organisation made this known to  newsmen in Abuja today following his assessment of the Governor's first 100 days in office.  He said that through his "People First" mantra the Governor has recorded unprecedented achievements within his first 100 days.

Counting the Governor's achievements,  Oluohu said that many things the governor has done within this 100 days include introduction of tuition-free for all indigenes of the state at both primary and secondary schools; payment of N10,000 increment for workers' salary in the state and restoration of Calabar to its former glory as a cleanest city.

Other achievements during the period under review include rehabilitation and construction of key roads in Calabar South, Municipal and Obudu; approval of free antenatal care and delivery for pregnant women in the state hospitals and allocation of N3.7 billion for the completion of the Obudu Cargo and passengers Airport.

Oluohu, who was the immediate past Supervisory Councillor for finance and Investment, further described the Governor as a focused and far-sighted leader whose strategic planning has moved the state forward.

The APC Chieftain, who is an indigene of the state, stressed that the Governor's engagement of stakeholders' mechanism to get things done in the state was excellence and commendable.

Oluohu, who has also served as Supervisory Councillor of Environment, Education and Health at various times, therefore, enjoined the people mostly the politicians that are anxious to be appointed because of the economic situation to be patient with him.

He argued that, even the immediate past administration of former Governor Ben Ayade that appointed a lot of people into his administration on 'food on the table' manstra was not done in the first six months of his administration, it was rather a continuous process, which he did  till three months to the expiration of the administration in February 2023. He said that the governor was not expected to do miracle immediately in the face of economic reality, but to study critically so as to enable him take the state to a promise land.  

The former AMAC Official, while lamenting on the state's infrastructural decadence, further advised Cross Riverians to be cautious, as food was not the problem, but to encourage government to take infrastructural development as priority. 

He therefore, assured with confidence that Governor Otu's achievements at the end of the day would supercede the previous administrations.

2023: FG Begins Capacity Building For Police Officers

 Federal government has flagged off capacity building on emotional intelligence aimed at increasing self-awareness, self-management, social awareness and relationship management, for improved service delivery by the rank and file of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).
