The Association of Local Government Vice-chairmen of Nigeria, ALGOVIC has concluded arrangements to honour deserving Nigerians at its forthcoming national conference on November 28.
Addressing newsmen in Abuja today, its National Chairman, Aarebinrin Honourable (Dr) Princess Folasade Olabanji-Oba said no fewer than 10 prominent Nigerians were recognised for their sterling qualities, accomplishment, excellence and selfless services towards their community, humanity and nation building through empowerment and contribution to peace, unity and socio-economic development.
The award list according to her included Senator Godswill Akpabio, the Senate President; Dr. George Akume, Secretary to the government of the Federation; Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, Chief of Staff to the President and Barrister Nyesom Wike, Minister of Federal Capital Territory, FCT.
Others are Governors Godwin Obaseki and Mohammed Bago of Edo and Niger States respectively, Senator Tokunbo Abiru and Alhaji Muhammed Idris, Honourable Minister of Information and National Orientation.
ALGOVIC Boss disclosed that apart from the award night, earlier on that day, there would be conference in the morning, where three critical lectures on pressing national issues would be presented by eminent Nigerians and it is expected to be declared open by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation.
